It’s a Berry Blessings

What’s your favourite Berry?

Mine is the Raspberry.  And here’s what I learnt about them today....

The raspberry is the edible fruit of a multitude of plant species in the genus Rubus of the rose family. Most of which are in the subgenus Idaeobatus; the name also applies to these plants themselves. Raspberries are perennial with woody stems.

I love them frozen over a French Vanilla Ice Cream. 

The sweetest of the ice cream and the tartness of the berry makes for a perfect sweetness. 

The Blackberry is a close second. When we were kids they grew in the back of our home. And we’d be picking the throughout the summer. My parents used to make wine from the Blackberries. And to keep us out of trouble during the summer months. They’d to pay us to pick them. For a whole $2. Talk about cheap labour, right! 

After the first bucket us kids learnt our lesson. And increased out price. Never picked Blackberries again that summer.

And the whisper white is 2.25”x 3.75”
